Deb Hendy, M.Ed., RP · Registered Psychotherapist
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or a difficult life transition, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, find balance, and move forward.
A space to reflect, heal, and grow · for pre-teens, teens & adults
About me
I offer compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy for pre-teens, teens, and adults in a welcoming environment that values collaborative client and family centered care.
With more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families in community mental health and social service settings, I bring both professional expertise and a practical understanding of life's challenges to my work. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring what matters most, and working toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach
No two people arrive in therapy with the same story. My approach is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, goals, and preferences.
A safe space that honours what you've been through, moves at your pace, and never asks you to share more than you're ready to.
We build on the resilience and resources you already carry, developing practical strategies for growth and well-being.
Together we explore the patterns and beliefs contributing to distress, drawing on approaches proven to help.
Modalities I draw from
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, often called talk therapy, is a process that helps people understand themselves more deeply, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change.
Some clients benefit from short-term, solution-focused work, while others find longer-term therapy helpful for deeper exploration and lasting change.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I can support you through a wide range of concerns. While I do not diagnose mental health conditions or prescribe medication, psychotherapy can work effectively alongside medical or psychiatric care when appropriate.

A note on current employment & community services
As I am currently employed at the Maltby Centre, I am unable to provide private psychotherapy services to individuals who are active clients of the Maltby Centre. This helps maintain clear professional boundaries and avoid potential conflicts of interest.
If you are currently receiving services through the Maltby Centre, I encourage you to continue working with your existing supports or discuss alternative options with your care team. The Maltby Centre offers a range of publicly funded mental health services for children, youth, and families.
